Our glossy clear bra carries a 10 year warranty against, yellowing, cracking, peeling, staining, and hazing, and reimburses both film and labor in the unlikely event of a failure.

What if a stain does not come off the film during normal washing?

If ordinary car wash or soap and water will not remove a stain, there are a variety products available to do the job. In most cases a pH neutral citrus-based cleaner will remove anything on the surface of the film. If you are unsure about the use of any other chemical on the surface of the film, please contact us at 770.648.6030.

How to care for clear bra/paint protection film?

Clear Bra / Paint Protection Film simply requires regular and proper cleaning and sealing(unless you already have a ceramic paint coating installed).

Our general care instructions are:

● Wait 48 hours after installation to wash your car or allow it to get wet
● Remove insect or other stains with bug and tar remover as soon as it’s noticed
● Stubborn stains can be removed with a pH neutral citrus-based cleaner
● Seal with synthetic polymer like Menzerna Powerlock at least once every 3 months to preserve high gloss
● In lieu of a sealant, you can have a ceramic paint coating installed over the clear bra
● Light scratches in the film will self heal in 20-30 minutes at room temperature. In colder conditions, or to accelerate the process, pour warm water (120°F) over the affected area

 

Can I wax the film when I wax the rest of the car?

Yes. Ensure you do not use dyed waxes as they can stain with their harsher solvents. Alternatively, upgrading to a ceramic paint coating will eliminate the need for regular waxing.

 

Will clear bra make the paint underneath the film fade at a different rate?

No. Clear Bra/Paint Protection Film allows UV to penetrate the film and fade the paint underneath at the same rate as the exposed paint.

Do different Clear Bra/Paint Protection Films install the same way?

All paint protection films on the market have, at least, subtle differences in how they are installed. This is due to differences in adhesive chemistry, top coat density, urethane film make up, etc. With many years of clear bra installation experience in Atlanta, Detailed Designs Auto Spa is qualified to give you a beautiful installation that you will be very satisfied with for years to come.

 

What does the clear bra 10-year warranty cover?

To be free from defects in materials and workmanship for ten (10) years from the date of purchase. Covered defects include: discoloration, cracking, blistering and delamination. This warranty does not extend coverage to damage caused by normal wear and tear, lifting from pressurized water, road debris impact, accidents, collisions or intentional damage of any kind.

 

Does the warranty include labor to replace the film?

Yes, for customers in the United States. Reimbursement for labor charges covered by the warranty will be made directly to the authorized dealer performing warranty replacement. Specific rules and restrictions apply.

 How is XPEL ULTIMATE Paint Protection Film self-healing?

Clear Bra Paint Protection Film has a polymer in its clear coat which flows. This allows the clear coat to find its natural level again after being disturbed on the surface.

 

How deep a scratch will heal?

The top coat is designed to heal superficial surface scratches and common swirl marks that occur during routine washing of the car. If the scratch penetrates through the film's top coat, it will not heal. If a rock impacts on the film and causes a deformation, the top coat does not have the ability to heal.

 

How long does it take for a scratch to heal?

The time for a scratch to heal depends on the severity of the scratch and the ambient temperature. Minor scratches usually heal in one hour at room temperature (72°F). In warmer climates, healing time will be shorter. The healing process can be accelerated at any time by pouring hot water over the scratched area.

 

My car already has one or more rock chips. Can clear bra be installed over existing damage?

Yes, clear bra can be installed over existing damage. Rock chips or other more severe damage may be able to be filled with paint by request, but you may notice where the damage was before the film was installed. For many people, knowing where the damage already was leads them back to the damaged spot rather than it being overly noticeable. Being quick to have clear bra installed protects you from having to experience this.

 

 

How long will the top coat last?

Depending on how the film is cared for, the top coat can last beyond the warranty. Regular washing and waxing will keep the clear coat in top condition for years to come. Adding a ceramic paint coating  on top of your clear bra installation will give you the best chemical resistance and remove the need to regularly wax the film.
