It’s not enough to remove the rear bumper emblems and eyeball them back into place at Detailed Designs Auto Spa. Emblem removal and replacement is a weekly event here. The removal of emblems means we can correct paint where one could otherwise not reach and it also allows us to wrap with clear bra the way we do things….seamless! We have pages upon pages of diagrams noting location and measurements from past projects. All emblems go back to their factory location!
Look before you leap! Even though the whole car is getting paint correction due to marring that came straight from the factory, there was quite an intensive scratch on the roof. Before we get aggressive we feel it’s necessary to make sure we are working with enough clear coat so that a lifetime of integrity is not risked. The answer? Using an ultrasonic paint depth gauge that reads multiple layer thicknesses is the tool of choice! Don’t drop it though, they are not cheap!
